micromax in note 1 unboxing and first impression with full detailed information

hi guys this is shubham and in this article let's do the unboxing have a first look by this new micromax you could say that is the note 1 smartphone and as you can see guys this is a 64 gigabyte variant it also comes in another variant that's 128 gigabytes but that model also comes with just four gigabytes of ram and this is in my micro uh max and here it gives us the specs and regarding the pricing guys uh uh this variant is sold for 11 000 and that 128 gigabyte will be sold for about 13 000 and i would say this variant that we are unboxing makes

the most sense but let's have a closer look and here it says that it's powered by the mediatek uh g85 soc that's based on 12 nanometer uh then we have a quad camera it says and a 5000 milli amp battery and this i believe will be sold in india via flipkart i'll leave the links guys uh let's just keep this over here and here is the smartphone itself and big deal is that micromax is claiming that this will be having stock android experience and no ads or

bloatware so i'm also interested to see and in fact they have promised two years of updates on this even security updates so lot of claims let's see how they do that so let's just open this again again we have a plastic coating too much of plastic coating over here what is this this is like yeah one more sticker kind of a thing let's just peel that off too

many stickers one more sticker over here and guys this is polycarbonate plastic and all these things so i'll remove that later and we have a quad camera set up uh main camera is supposed to be actually 48 megapixel on this one and as you can see it's a big phone uh and let's see the accessories then we'll see what else so we have a sim ejector tool a small user guide basic stuff gives you an idea about how to put your sim and all those things basic stuff and we get a usb type-c cable so nice uh it's type c not the regular one and we also get a charger the quality is slightly cheap plastic but again i won't mind because uh it's supposed to be a 18 watt fast charger that we are getting in the box so that's what we have and let me just keep these things to the side and let's look at the device itself and guys it's supposed to have a 6.67 inch screen and it does not

weigh that much in fact we have one more screen guard that is pre-applied to screen guards so that's what we have let me give you a physical overview uh looks like a secondary noise cancellation microphone over here and here we have the volume rocker as well as the power of on off buttons all the buttons are here bottom will be the vent for the speaker uh your usb type c port main microphone 3.5 mm headphone jack and here we just have a sim tray let me just take out that sim and give you an idea it should be i believe it's a triple slot but let's just confirm it yes so we are getting a triple slot that's why i say at no point going with that 128 gigabyte

variant you can add that micro sd card so i feel that 11 000 rupees variant uh is the best bang for buck for this device uh so we have uh what do you say physical uh fingerprint scanner here and the quad camera setup uh it's a 48 then 5 megapixel is ultra wide then we have 22 megapixel for macro and depth the front is supposed to be 16 and let's just power it on and uh guys by the time it actually boots up and i set it up here is a configuration overview this micromax note 1 is having a 6.67 inch full hd plus ips lcd screen it's powered by the mediatek helio g85 octa core chipset it comes with four gigabytes of ram and storage will be 64 or 128 it has a quadratic camera setup 48 megapixel with f 1.8 is the main lens then we have a 5 megapixel that's ultra

wide 2 megapixel macro and 2 megapixel depth front facing is 16 megapixel and it's supposed to have a 5000mah battery with 18 watt fast charging so guys i had set up the smartphone and as you can see this is the next day and i have also taken a lot of camera samples with this one i'm going to share that with you so let's go out and over the overview of this one and uh it's they say it's stock android but uh it's not technically stock android yes it's a very clean interface as

you can see but as you can see the icons are a little bit different stock android does not have this sort of icons but i like the fact that no bloatware or anything was pre-installed so no adware that i found or any unnecessary apps that i found so very clean i am very happy that they are doing it like this so that's nice and underneath also apart from this icon if you look at it mostly the layout is closer to what you'll get on the stock uh you do have the user guide itself over here so slight modifications what they have done but overall it's clean ui no ads or any bloatware that we have found generally that's the issue with most of these budget oriented or mid-range

android phones for example xiaomi redmi you know that miui that rdui filled with ads and stuff so that is a pleasant surprise i would say very clean that we are saying right now it's on android 10. uh it should get the android 11 update and they say that this will also get security updates but there is no clarity uh about the frequency uh when we will get those security is it once in two months or once in three months so we need that clarity a little bit uh but

again if you look at the screen guys uh it's a good quality screen considering the price point and uh coming to the screen uh it's a 1080p screen that we are getting uh and i would say the screen quality is overall uh good on the smartphone uh but again they did have to cut some cost uh so in terms of the maximum brightness it's more than adequate in indoor lighting situations i did not have a problem right now as you can see we are in this low brightness and it's perfectly fine indoors but uh when i was testing it outdoors even at maximum brightness the screen

is simply not that bright but again i won't complain uh constraining the price point but that is something you got to note uh in terms of colors also i like the color reproduction uh it's not a bad panel that they have here so the colors actually look a little bit punchy it's more saturated uh but i guess most people like that so in that area i would say uh it does a good job and uh this is close to stock on left we get the google pane also so i like that they have retained uh mostly the close to stock android experience and i would say uh in general responsiveness it was fine most of the time but one bug again this might be a bug and i noticed that if the phone

is on standby for more than about 15-20 minutes the fingerprint scanner is here and it unlocks but i noticed some stutter once or twice uh it happens only if the phone is on standby for more than 10 minutes and when you unlock first it gives a slight slug stutter but maybe they can fix it with the software apart from that i did not find any issues of lagginess or anything while using the phone i was just testing it from yesterday onwards took a lot of samples also i'll show you that uh so close to stock android that we have uh regarding the fingerprint scanner it's over here [Music] and it's fairly responsive i would say it works about 95 percent of the time uh sometimes i had to do it twice but overall as you can see works fine uh the speaker is also

loud enough let me actually show you let me just play one of my own videos can we justify that 30 000 price cap difference is a big question so it's a obviously a speaker over here and i won't say this is the loudest speaker that i've heard uh but it is adequately loud i would say so again uh no issues regarding that and uh now uh also let's also talk about uh the camera on this one now it has that quad camera set up uh the main being a 48 megapixel and i was very

skeptical about the camera initially because i thought there they'll do a huge amount of cost cutting but i'm surprised with the camera performance let me actually show you the samples but before that let's quickly have a look at the interface it's a very basic interface it's

modified as i've told you it's not stock android there are some modifications so uh here as you have you can use the tap to focus and and there is a bug sometimes it's just sometimes in this regular mode if you take a picture you get this and you'll assume that it has taken a picture but sometimes i've lost the shot it simply did not save this happened about ten percent of the time so there is some bug and if you click here it goes to the wide angle mode like this as you can see so you have that and you have a lot of modes even pro mode is there on this one and for the bokeh you have to actually click this one to get to the bokeh aperture mode and you can adjust how much background blur you want via playing around with this one and yes it takes a little bit of time in this mode

but rest of the modes were fast and front facing also we have that background blur this is the front
facing camera and in fact the front-facing camera did perform much better than i expected and uh here also uh you click this portrait mode and you get that portrait effect let me actually now show you the sample shots that i've taken with this smartphone so these are the samples taken with the rear facing camera and as you can see outdoor shots actually come out really good as you can see this is very colorful and uh this was taken in my office regular shot and this was that wide angle lens let me actually show you some outdoor shots and as you can see in outdoor conditions the pictures actually come out to be really cool and even i would say the color is mostly

accurate this was a regular shot and this was that uh wide-angle shot another example regular shot and this was that ultra wide angle now moving to shots taken in the evening here also as you can see it did a very good job but again the sky is a lot more bluer for some reason but nevertheless considering the price i won't complain these were taken in semi indoor conditions and here i was impressed considering uh the low light situation it was it did a good job but background blur uh in the bokeh mode is not that this was a regular shot it came out actually really good another regular shot as you can see again in my office this was the regular shot and that

ultra wide as in indoor it is a little bit soft now moving to front facing camera here we had yellow lights and uh here we had white lights i would say default mode it does a great job with the front facing camera but when we enable that bokeh mode just notice the blurring around my hair it's an issue so the background blur is not that great with the front facing camera so guys uh that's it for now for the unboxing and first look at this uh new micromax note

1 smartphone what do you guys feel about this one i was very skeptical about this smartphone before i got it in my hand but considering the price point of about 11 000 i feel it's a good smartphone what i liked is a clean ui no ads or anything no bloatware also on this one which is a rarity these days so i like that and it's fairly fast yes i did notice some stutters here and there only while waking up if it was on standby for more than 10 minutes but in regular usage i did not find a issue and yes the cameras does have some bugs as i've mentioned but hopefully with the first

ot update they fix it and if micromax can keep its promise they're promising two years of updates on this one and they said that they will not add ads or bloatware on this then this can be a very good smartphone but again we don't know uh the frequency of updates how quickly they will uh give updates and i hope in the race of just giving updates

they don't add bugs and some of the bugs that i've noticed they fix it with the ot update if they can do that then i think micromax has a serious chance to come back in this market because i know many of you are now fed up with many of the mid-range smartphones that are filled with ads so i hope this is a fresh change and i hope just hope micromax keeps the promises what they have given but what do you guys think about this new smartphone by micromax do let me know in the comment section below anyways guys that's it for now thanks for watching this is shubham and i hope to see you in my next one and take care guys
